ViewSonic VA903b vs Samsung SyncMaster 971P lcd monitor comparison

Screen on both monitor is 19" large. Both of compared TFT monitors : ViewSonic VA903b and Samsung SyncMaster 971P have the same maximum screen resolution (1280x1024).

These monitors have good response times.

Picture can be really bright only at VA903b (luminance is 300 cd/m2) and it cannot be so bright at SyncMaster 971P (luminance is 250 cd/m2). Both monitors have very good contrast ratio (SyncMaster 971P has 1500:1 and VA903b has 700:1). Horizontal viewing angle is good on both monitors (178º at Samsung SyncMaster 971P and 160º at ViewSonic VA903b) for watching movies. These tft monitors are nice for watching tv programs or movies on them since they have decent vertical viewing angles (SyncMaster 971P has 178º and VA903b has 160º).

Both of these monitors have VGA input jack for connection to older graphic cards. Only Samsung SyncMaster 971P has DVI input which allows you to connect it to some new video cards.
