ViewSonic Optiquest Q9b-2 vs Samsung SyncMaster 940BW lcd monitor comparison

On both models screen size is 19". Samsung SyncMaster 940BW lcd monitor has better maximum screen resolution - 1440x900, in contrast to 1280x1024 at ViewSonic Optiquest Q9b-2.

These monitors have decent response times of their pixels.

With its brightness of 300cd/m2 we can say that these tft monitors can provide very bright picture. Contrast ratio is 700:1 on ViewSonic Optiquest Q9b-2 which is good. But Samsung SyncMaster 940BW has contrast ratio only 500:1. These tft monitors are poor choice for watching tv programs or movies since they haven't decent horizontal viewing angles (SyncMaster 940BW has 160º and Optiquest Q9b-2 has 150º). Both monitors have poor viewable vertical angle (160º at SyncMaster 940BW and 135º at Optiquest Q9b-2) so they aren't quite confortable for watching movies.

Presence of DVI allows you to connect Samsung SyncMaster 940BW with some new video cards.
