Samsung SyncMaster 971P vs Westinghouse LCM-17v2 lcd monitor shopping comparison

We like more Samsung SyncMaster 971P 19" inch screen than Westinghouse LCM-17v2's 17" size. Maximum declared screen resolution (1280x1024) is on both TFT monitors in this comparison.

Decent response time has only Samsung SyncMaster 971P with 6ms. Westinghouse LCM-17v2 haven't good pixel response time with its 14ms.

Picture on LCM-17v2 could be very bright (350 cd/m2), but we cannot say the same for SyncMaster 971P (250cd/m2) Only Samsung SyncMaster 971P has good contrast (1500:1). Westinghouse LCM-17v2 has contrast ratio of 350:1.

Both of these monitors have VGA input jack for connection to older graphic cards. Only Samsung SyncMaster 971P has DVI input which allows you to connect it to some newer video cards. Notable advantages of these LCD monitors are : built in 2.5-watt speakers for Westinghouse LCM-17v2 and for Samsung SyncMaster 971P.
