Samsung SyncMaster 740N vs Westinghouse LCM-17V8 tft monitor shopping comparison
Screen on both monitor is 17" large. Maximum screen resolution (1280x1024) is same on both LCD monitors. Both monitors have standard aspect ratio (4:3) - they aren't wide. Both of compared monitors have decent pixel response times (8 ms). With its brightness of 300cd/m2 we can say that these monitors can provide very bright picture. Contrast ratio is 600:1 on Samsung SyncMaster 740N which is good. But Westinghouse LCM-17V8 has contrast ratio only 450:1. If you want to be able to connect your monitor to older computers, Westinghouse LCM-17V8 isn't good choice due to lack of VGA input. Westinghouse LCM-17V8 has DVI needed by modern video cards.
