Samsung SyncMaster 971P vs ViewSonic VG2021M tft monitor shopping comparison

ViewSonic VG2021M's monitor screen with 20" we like more than 19" screen at Samsung SyncMaster 971P. Maximum declared screen resolution on VG2021M (1400x1050) beats SyncMaster 971P (1280x1024).

Pixel response time on these monitors is 6ms for SyncMaster 971P and 8ms for VG2021M and that means they have nice pixel response times.

Since VG2021M has luminance 300cd/m2 it can produce much brighter picture than SyncMaster 971P which has luminance 250cd/m2. Contrast is 1500:1 on Samsung SyncMaster 971P which is good. But ViewSonic VG2021M has contrast ratio only 500:1. These TFT monitors are nice for watching tv programs or movies on them since they have decent horizontal viewing angles (SyncMaster 971P has 178º and VG2021M has 170º). Both monitors have good viewable vertical angle (178º at SyncMaster 971P and 155º at VG2021M) so they are quite confortable for watching movies.
