Samsung SyncMaster 970P vs ViewSonic VX924 lcd monitor shopping review

Both models have the same 19" screen size. Maximum declared screen resolution (1280x1024) is on both TFT monitors in this comparison.

These monitors have good response times.

These TFT monitors cannot provide very bright picture (VX924 has luminance 270cd/m2 and SyncMaster 970P has 250cd/m2). Contrast is very good only on Samsung SyncMaster 970P (1000:1), the another model has poor contrast (550:1). Both monitors have decent viewable horizontal angle (178º at SyncMaster 970P and 160º at VX924) so they are quite confortable for watching movies. Vertical viewing angle is good on both monitors (178º at Samsung SyncMaster 970P and 160º at ViewSonic VX924) for watching movies.

Both of these monitors have DVI to connect them to new graphic cards.
