Samsung SyncMaster 970P vs ViewSonic VA912b lcd monitor reviews

Both models have the same 19" screen size. Both of compared TFT monitors : Samsung SyncMaster 970P and ViewSonic VA912b have the same maximum screen resolution (1280x1024).

Both monitors have good response times (Samsung SyncMaster 970P has 6ms and ViewSonic VA912b has 8ms pixel response time).

Brightness of these LCD monitors is significantly poor (250 cd/m2). Contrast ratio is 1000:1 on Samsung SyncMaster 970P which is good. But ViewSonic VA912b has contrast only 500:1. Both monitors have nice viewable horizontal angle (178º at SyncMaster 970P and 160º at VA912b) so they are quite confortable for watching movies. Vertical angle is 178º on SyncMaster 970P and 160 ºon VA912b and those values makes them suitable for watching movies.

Presence of DVI allows you to connect these monitors to newer graphic cards.
