Samsung SyncMaster 940BW vs ViewSonic VX2235wm tft monitor reviews

We prefere more 22" screen size on ViewSonic VX2235wm than 19" screen size on Samsung SyncMaster 940BW. Maximum declared screen resolution on VX2235wm (1680x1050) beats SyncMaster 940BW (1440x900).

Both monitors are wide since the aspect ratio on SyncMaster 940BW is 16:9 and on VX2235wm is 16:10. These monitors have decent response times of their pixels.

Picture on SyncMaster 940BW could be very bright (300 cd/m2), but we cannot say the same for VX2235wm (280cd/m2) Contrast is 700:1 on ViewSonic VX2235wm which is good. But Samsung SyncMaster 940BW has contrast only 500:1. Horizontal viewing angle is bad on both monitors (170º at ViewSonic VX2235wm and 160º at Samsung SyncMaster 940BW) for watching . These TFT monitors are poor for watching tv programs or movies on them since they have vertical viewing angle of 160º.

Both monitors have VGA input so you are able connect them to older video cards. Presence of DVI allows you to connect these monitors to newer video cards.
