Samsung SyncMaster 940BW vs ViewSonic ThinEdge VP930B tft monitor comparison
Samsung SyncMaster 940BW and ViewSonic ThinEdge VP930B have same 19" screen size.
For people who likes higher screen resolutions, 1440x900 on SyncMaster 940BW might be more preferable than 1280x1024 on ThinEdge VP930B.
Since ViewSonic ThinEdge VP930B maybe doesn't have good pixel response time with its 20 perhaps you might notice some ghost when scrolling text on it.
Picture can be really bright only at SyncMaster 940BW (luminance is 300 cd/m2) and it cannot be so bright at ThinEdge VP930B (luminance is 250 cd/m2).
Contrast ratio is 1000:1 on ViewSonic ThinEdge VP930B which is good. But Samsung SyncMaster 940BW has contrast ratio only 500:1.
Both monitors have poor viewable horizontal angle (170º at ThinEdge VP930B and 160º at SyncMaster 940BW) so they aren't confortable for watching movies.
These LCD monitors are poor choice for watching tv programs or movies since they haven't nice vertical viewing angles (ThinEdge VP930B has 170º and SyncMaster 940BW has 160º).
These monitors have VGA input for connection to older video cards.
DVI input which these monitors have allows you to use with newer video cards.
