Samsung SyncMaster 740N vs ViewSonic VX922 lcd monitor review
We liked 19" monitor on ViewSonic VX922 quite better than 17" monitor size at Samsung SyncMaster 740N. On both SyncMaster 740N and VX922 there is maximum screen resolution of 1280x1024. These TFT monitors have good response times. Since SyncMaster 740N has luminance 300cd/m2 it can produce much brighter picture than VX922 which has luminance 270cd/m2. Contrast is 650:1 on VX922 and 600:1 on SyncMaster 740N and that is significantly good value for contrast. Both monitors have poor viewable horizontal angle (170º at VX922 and 160º at SyncMaster 740N) so they aren't confortable for watching movies. These TFT monitors are poor choice for watching tv programs or movies since they haven't good vertical viewing angles (VX922 has 170º and SyncMaster 740N has 160º). Only ViewSonic VX922 has DVI input which allows you to connect it to some modern graphic cards. More Information
