Samsung SyncMaster 740N vs ViewSonic VA912b lcd monitor shopping comparison
We like more ViewSonic VA912b 19" inch screen than Samsung SyncMaster 740N's 17" size. Maximum declared screen resolution (1280x1024) is on both LCD monitors in this comparison. Aspect ratio on these monitors is 4:3 and that means they aren't wide. These LCD monitors have decent response of pixels (8 ms). Since SyncMaster 740N has luminance 300cd/m2 it can produce much brighter picture than VA912b which has luminance 250cd/m2. SyncMaster 740N has good contrast ratio (600:1) but that is not the case with VA912b (500:1). Horizontal viewing angle is poor on monitors (160º). Vertical angle is 160º on both and therefore you might feel unconfortable watching movies on them. These LCD monitors have VGA input which you will need to connect them to older computer which don't have DVI input. DVI input which has ViewSonic VA912b is its adventage. More Information
