Samsung SyncMaster 971P vs HP L1706 lcd monitor comparison

Screen size at Samsung SyncMaster 971P is quite larger with its 19" than HP L1706 with its 17". Both of compared TFT monitors : Samsung SyncMaster 971P and HP L1706 have the same maximum screen resolution (1280x1024).

Since HP L1706 maybe doesn't have good pixel response time with its 12 perhaps you might notice some ghost when scrolling text on it.

Since L1706 has luminance 300cd/m2 it can produce much brighter picture than SyncMaster 971P which has luminance 250cd/m2. SyncMaster 971P has good contrast ratio (1500:1) but that is not the case with L1706 (500:1). Both monitors have good viewable horizontal angle (178º at SyncMaster 971P and 140º at L1706) so they are quite confortable for watching movies. Vertical angle is 178º on SyncMaster 971P and 130 ºon L1706 and those values makes them suitable for watching movies.
