Samsung SyncMaster 740N vs Acer AL1916Ab lcd monitor comparison
Acer AL1916Ab's monitor screen with its 19" we like more than 17" screen at Samsung SyncMaster 740N. Maximum screen resolution (1280x1024) is same on both TFT monitors. Pixel response time on these monitors is 8ms and that means you should not expirience so called "ghosts" on them. Both monitors are able to privide very bright picture (300 cd/m2). Contrast ratio is very good on these tft monitors (AL1916Ab has 700:1 and SyncMaster 740N has 600:1). Both monitors have poor viewable horizontal angle (160º at SyncMaster 740N and 140º at AL1916Ab) so they aren't quite confortable for watching movies. Vertical viewing angle is bad on both monitors (160º at Samsung SyncMaster 740N and 140º at Acer AL1916Ab) for watching movies. These lcd monitors have VGA input which you will need to connect them to older computer which don't have DVI input. No model has DVI input so you cannot connect them to some new graphic cards.
