Gateway FDP2185W vs ViewSonic VX922 tft monitor shopping comparison
We liked 21" monitor size on Gateway FDP2185W significantly better than 19" monitor size at ViewSonic VX922. With its declared 1680x1050 maximum screen resolution Gateway FDP2185W monitor beats ViewSonic VX922 with 1280x1024. Pixel response on these monitors is 2ms for VX922 and 8ms for FDP2185W and that means they have nice pixel response times. Since FDP2185W has luminance 300cd/m2 it can produce much brighter picture than VX922 which has luminance 270cd/m2. Contrast ratio is good on these tft monitors (FDP2185W has 1000:1 and VX922 has 650:1). Horizontal viewing angle is good on both monitors (178º at Gateway FDP2185W and 170º at ViewSonic VX922) for watching movies. Both monitors have good viewable vertical angle (178º at FDP2185W and 170º at VX922) so they are quite confortable for watching movies.
