Screen size on both models(Gateway FDP1760 and Samsung SyncMaster 731B) is 17". Maximum declared screen resolution (1280x1024) is on both TFT monitors in this comparison. Both monitors aren't wide, the aspect ratio on both is standard 4:3. Both TFT monitors have good response times (8ms). Picture on SyncMaster 731B could be very bright (300 cd/m2), but we cannot say the same for FDP1760 (270cd/m2) Contrast ratio on both monitor is 600:1 and that is good value.
