Acer AL1916W vs Samsung SyncMaster 740N lcd monitor comparison
We like more Acer AL1916W 19" inch screen than Samsung SyncMaster 740N's 17" size.
Maximum declared screen resolution on AL1916W (1440x900) beats SyncMaster 740N (1280x1024).
Pixel response time on monitors is 8ms and you should not expirience "ghosts" on them.
The picture on this LCD monitors can be very bright since brightness is 300cd/m2.
SyncMaster 740N has good contrast (600:1) but that is not the case with AL1916W (500:1).
Both monitors have poor viewable horizontal angle (160º at SyncMaster 740N and 150º at AL1916W) so they aren't confortable for watching .
Vertical viewing angle is bad on both monitors (160º at Samsung SyncMaster 740N and 130º at Acer AL1916W) for watching movies.
Both monitors have VGA input so you can connect them to older video cards.
Disadvantage of both is lack of DVI input for connection to some newer graphic cards.
