Acer AL1706AB vs Samsung SyncMaster 940MW lcd monitor shopping review
We prefere more 19" screen size on Samsung SyncMaster 940MW than 17" screen size on Acer AL1706AB. Maximum screen resulution on Samsung SyncMaster 940MW is 1440x900, which might prefer graphic experts rather than 1280x1024 on Acer AL1706AB. These monitors have good response time 8 ms. Picture can be really bright only at SyncMaster 940MW (luminance is 300 cd/m2) and it cannot be so bright at AL1706AB (luminance is 270 cd/m2). SyncMaster 940MW has good contrast (700:1) but that is not the case with AL1706AB (500:1). These monitors are poor choice for watching tv programs or movies since they haven't decent horizontal viewing angles (SyncMaster 940MW has 160º and AL1706AB has 140º). Verical angle is 160º on SyncMaster 940MW and 130 ºon AL1706AB and those values makes them unsuitable for watching movies. Presence of DVI allows you to connect Samsung SyncMaster 940MW with some newer video cards. Only SyncMaster 940MW has TV tuner. More Information
