Acer AL1706AB vs Samsung SyncMaster 204B lcd monitor review

Screen size at Samsung SyncMaster 204B is quite larger with its 20.1" than Acer AL1706AB with its 17". Maximum declared screen resolution on SyncMaster 204B (1600x1200) beats AL1706AB (1280x1024).

These monitors have decent response times of their pixels (with 5ms on SyncMaster 204B and 8ms on AL1706AB).

Only Samsung SyncMaster 204B is able to produce very bright picture (300 cd/m2 luminance), Acer AL1706AB has brightness 270 cd/m2. SyncMaster 204B has good contrast (800:1) but that is not the case with AL1706AB (500:1). Horizontal angle is 160º on SyncMaster 204B and 140 ºon AL1706AB and those values makes them unsuitable for watching TV. Verical angle is 160º on SyncMaster 204B and 130 ºon AL1706AB and those values makes them unsuitable for watching movies.

Presence of DVI allows you to connect Samsung SyncMaster 204B with some modern graphic cards.
